Dear Marjory & family,
Thank you for your card & letting us know the sad news of Michael. Maura & I have happy memories of him & his liking, especially, of orange flavoured biscuits!
However, what I really admired about him was his cheerfulness and courage. He seemed to me to have many abilities, his love of the countryside – hedge layering, the garden and your fruit cage with the thornless blackberries of which he proudly spoke. Then, of course, his devotion to public service which meant much to many & so richly rewarded by his receiving the M.B.E.
As a family I believe you all played a devoted role in supporting a truly lovely man & an example of how a Christian shines.
With love to you all,
Charles & Maura
